PAHRUMP NUCLEAR WASTE & ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE DRAFT MINUTES January 8, 2021 Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Nuclear Waste & Environmental Advisory Committee was held on January 8, 2021 at 11:30am via teleconference. 1. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge was recited. 2. Roll Call In attendance: Bob Adams, Bill Stremmel, John Pawlak, Deb Perna. Visitor: Heather Freeman 3. Approval of the Agenda for January 8, 2021. 4 yay/0 nay 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (first). NONE 5. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation of minutes of the Pahrump Nuclear Waste and Environmental Advisory Committee (PNWEAC) of, December 4, 2020. 4 yay/0 nay 6. Announcements (first) NONE 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for the future.) NONE 8. For Possible Action – Discussion and deliberation – Continued planning of Earth Day/Arbor Day 2021. 4 yay/0 nay The Committee is focusing on the Grab & Go concept. Heather Freeman will check into the possibility of using the UNR CO-OP location. Heather also suggested using the Auxiliary Sherriff personnel to help with traffic. For Possible Action – Discussion and Deliberation – Regarding environment issues in Southern Nevada and within the Town of Pahrump to include comments to the Board of Nye County Commissioners. 4 yay/0 nay Bill discussed the dust control issues and attending the BOCC meetings during the three-minute public comment period, representing PMAC and our initiatives in an informative manner. 10. For Possible Action – Discussion and Deliberation – Regarding Nuclear issues in Southern Nevada and within the Town of Pahrump to include comments to the Board of Nye County Commissioners. 4 yay/0 nay Bill S. is still monitoring the Yuca Mountain situation and the committee will discuss further. 11. General Public Comment (Second) NONE 12. Announcements (second). Next meeting scheduled for Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11:30am via phone conference. 4 yay/0 nay 13. ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned.
