Page 1 of 2 PARHRUMP ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Nuclear Waste and Environmental Advisory Committee was held May 1, 2020 at 11:30 A.M via conference call. Board Members in attendance: John Pawlak, Bill Stremmel, Debra Perna, Mike Smith, Also present: Mary Fisher 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order 2. Roll Call 3. Approval of the Agenda for May 1, 2020. 4 yay/0 nay 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First) 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of Minutes of the Pahrump Nuclear Waste and Environmental Advisory Committee meeting of March 6, 2020. Approved with corrections. 6. Announcements (First) 7. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas) 8. For possible Action - Discussion & deliberation – Regarding future meetings platforms for the Pahrump Environmental Management Advisory Committee. (In-person, Video, Telephonic.) The committee decided to meet in person, if possible, with the option of teleconference for those who prefer. 4 yay/0 nay ---PAGE BREAK--- 9. For possible Action - Discussion & deliberation – Further Planning of Earth Day/Arbor Day 2020. The committee decided to not pursue Earth Day planning for 2020 and proceed with the normal event calendar for 2021. 3 yay/1 nay 10. For possible Action - Discussion & deliberation – Environmental Person of the Year award. The committee decided to present this award to Faith Muello. 4 yay/0 nay 11. For possible Action - Discussion and deliberation - Regarding Environment issues in Southern Nevada and within the Town of Pahrump to include comments to the Board of Nye County Commissioners. The committee discussed pursuing virus and communicable disease prevention awareness initiatives. John mentioned that he would speak to Scott Lewis about a tour of the Command Center 12. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation – Regarding Nuclear issues in Southern Nevada and within the Town of Pahrump to include comments to the Board of Nye County Commissioners. 13.
