I TOWN OF PAHRUMP RESOLUTION NO. 2017-01 2 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZiNG THE SUBMISSION OF NOTICE TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR, BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT THAT THE TOWN OF 3 PAHRUMP REQUESTS A DIRECT (NON-COMPETITIVE) SALE OF REVERSIONARY INTEREST FOP THE REAL PROPERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE PAHRUMP FAIRGROUNDS LOCATED E’ 4 PAHRUMP, NV FOR RECREATION-RELATED COMMERCIAL PURPOSES AND AUTHORIZING TI-IF CHAIRMAN TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS AND TO TAKE SUCH OTHER ACTIONS AS REQUIREL 5 TO SECURE ISSUANCE OF THE SUBJECT LAND. 6 WHEREAS, the Recreation and Public Purposes Act (68 Statute 173; 43 U.S.C 869 et. Seq.) (“Act” 7 authorizes the lease or sale of public lands for recreational or public purposes to state and local governments; and 8 WHEREAS, On April 21, 2015, the Nye County (the County) Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) 9 sitting as the Governing Body of the unincorporated Town of Pahmmp, voted to proceed with exploring options t 10 purchase the reversionary interest (reverter) of the Pahmmp/Nye County Fairgrounds; and 11 WHEREAS, On August 18, 2015, the BoCC sitting as the Governing Body of the unincorporated Town o 12 Pahrump voted (5-0) to pursue the purchase of the Fairgrounds patent reverter; and 13 WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the interests of the Town and the public would be served througi 14 issuance by the BLM of a direct (non-competitive) sale of reversionary interest to the Town subject to certair 15 restrictions as specified in the Act. 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Nye County Board of County Commissioners as follows: 17 1.
