Pursuant to NRS, a meeting of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee was held at 7:00 PM on May 9, 2019 at the Bob Ruud Community Center located at 150 N Hwy 160 Pahrump, NV 89060. 1 1. Pledge of Allegiance and Call to Order. At 7:03 pm 2. Roll Call Scot T, Darius M, Loyce S, Robert T, Cody C, Steve C, Debra S, Steve P, Debbie P 3. Approval of the Agenda for May 9, 2019. Cody mde a motion to approve and Darius second, all in favor 4. GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT (Three-minute time limit per person.) Action will not be taken on the matters considered during this period until specifically included on an agenda as an action item (First) Debra Strickland want to put it out there seems like county commission is going to start to NOT waive fees. 5. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of Minutes of the Pahrump Arena Advisory Committee, meeting of April 11, 2019. Scot made a motion and Cody second, all in favor. 6. Announcements (First) Michelle barrel race. run this weekend. Rid a Rock did the arena. 7. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation of Arena Reservations. PVRR would like July 19, Oct 20, Scot makes a motion to change their canceled dates to these available dates, Darius second, all in favor. Michelle is asking for May 12 for NWHF, Steve P, made a motion to approve, Scot Second, all in favor. 8. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation regarding Arena fixes. Robert, in the announcing system, the sequencer is popping the breaker. The sound system needs an isolated circuit. Need a town electrician to identify all wiring on the announcer stand. If the announcer is not, it will need to be done. We need to have the announcing switch checked and if bad replaced. Scot made a motion to have Robert get with a announcer/ music person, Cody second, all in favor. PAAC would like a workshop on May 19 at 8:00 a.m. to identify/repair on arena. Scot asked if Matt can have one of his guys locate all posts. Scot asked if we can get 50-1/2” round stock, or at least three 20’ sticks. Robert mentioned to repair the stripping chute. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation to discuss information given for covering main arena. Waiting on Matt for info on the covering the arena. Steve C would like to have a line item for cover of not, and water truck. 10. For Possible Action - Discussion and deliberation to create a sub-committee to get together plans for help on the county Fair Grounds. Steve P, said Matt has all commercial plans for the town of Pahrump. PAAC would like to table it to the next meeting. 11. For Possible Action – Discussion of a resident wanting to be in the Guinness World Record Book as the oldest person to ride a bucking bull and needing the towns help. Robert suggested that we do it during a Senior Pro Bull event would be April of next year. Debra will be in contact with him and work on plans. 12. Committee Comments (This item limited to announcements or topics/issues proposed for future workshops/agendas) Robert has been in contact with Donna with the Chamber of Commerce; she has two bids and is looking into having Fall Fest Rodeo again. 13.
