In 1776, my family help form a new nation, history does repeat itself. I ran for Village Clerk of this new town, just like Senate Majority leader- Everett McKinley Dirksen suggested I do to start a career in politics. I set up the Village Clerk’s office in my home, help set up the Building and Zoning Dept., help set up the Police Dept. and everything else that required to get the town working for the citizens. I worked the first year for a salary of $0.00. After that a $600.00 a year salary which including many times work more than 40 hours a week. I never seem to make more than that $600.00. After my term as Village Clerk, my husband got a higher management promotion with AT & T. We had built a 3,300 sq. foot house on 2 1/2 acres and 7 Y2 miles of private horse trails. Our barn was 2,400 sq. ft. - it was quite a neighborhood. I enrolled my oldest child in school, only to find out the school was scoring 50 - 55 % in standardized tests. I ran for the school board and won two terms. In three years after my being on the board our standardized test scores went up to 88 - 95 % on standardized tests. My oldest graduated high school with 100 % of her class attending college. I have also been an election judge for the Grand Old Party, like so many of my family. In 1860, two of my family attended a convention in Chicago, Illinois, which was the first convention of the Grand Old Party. My family members help nominate and elect the 16th President. I chose to leave politics and start showing dogs. I have been cross the nation showing dogs. I bred and sold dogs, as a responsible dog owner. I have been to over 100 fairgrounds across the country, and have made a name for myself in my bred. I have lived since 2000 in Pahrump. I have been involved since 2001 a member of the Pahrump Valley Obedience Club. I have served as President (3yrs), Secretary (3yrs), board member (3yrs), show chairman (3yrs) and Obedience instructor (l3yrs). I have also served on the Park & Recreation Advisory Board for 5 Yz yrs.as Secretary for 3 years and chairman for 1 year. I help design the dog park at Kellogg Park. I am reapplying to the board.
