Royal Crest Pre-Bid Meeting Minutes - 8/17/2020 at 10am 1. Introductions: a. Chris Churches – Director of Planning and Zoning, Capital Projects and Grants, Otsego County b. Joe Switalski – Maintenance Director, Otsego County. c. Kevin Makarewicz – PE, C2AE d. Scot Egleston - Environmental Scientist, Sagasser & Associates, Inc. 2. Key Information – Chris Churches: a. Bids are due at 1pm on Friday, August 21st. Bids will opened publicly be read aloud at 1:05pm. b. Any questions must be received by the end of business day on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Questions can be directed to myself. c. Project start date is anticipated to be any time after Board Approval of the project at the September 22nd Board of Commissioners meeting. d. The project must be substantially complete no later than December 31st, 2020. Site restoration may extend into Spring 2021 if warranted by weather or other outside circumstance. e. Vendors located in Otsego County receive a 5% cost variance for low bid determination. 3. C2AE Overview – Kevin Makarewicz: a. Kevin reviewed the two demolition plan sheets contained in the project specifications. 4. Sagasser and Associates Overview - Scot Egleston: a. Scot discussed the location and nature of the asbestos containing material. 5. Questions Received*: a. Can contractors use the fire-hydrants adjacent to the building? What is the City of Gaylord’s water rates? b. Who is responsible for density testing? The contractor or owner? c. The plans say that the HMA will remain. However, Kevin while going over the plans mentioned that it would be removed. Is it being removed or is it staying? d. Can we get the exact location and/or pictures of the location of the water service and appurtenances along South Court Ave? e.
