RFP 2023-03: Recycling Drop-Off Services Question 2-5 Submitted to Matt Barresi, Otsego County Administrator Submitted by Andie Fisher Waste Management on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 2:38 p.m. Question 2: When looking at your current containers at each location these are commercial front load 10-yard containers. The bid specs request pricing for 10-yard roll-off containers. Are you looking to change the container style? Otsego County’s Response to Question 2: Otsego County is willing to consider different container styles. Question 3: The way the pricing is requested is also in the roll-off format. It is typically cheaper to service this style container under commercial rather than roll-off. Are you open to commercial pricing rather than roll off? Otsego County’s Response to Question 3: Otsego County would not be able to entertain commercial pricing at this time due to the volume the county generates. The bid format has been vetted by multiple agencies, including legal and we are not prepared to deviate from the format. Question 4: Are you open to changing the container size? I can give you a much better rate with 8-yard containers and could just provide an additional container at each location to offset the yardage. Otsego County’s Response to Question 4: The containers at each location fill up quickly at 10 yards each, space is not available for more than what is currently provided. Question 5: If do want to stick with roll-off pricing and containers, do you have an estimated tonnage? Having the tonnage amounts could play a great deal into the rates. The more tons hauled the cheaper the rate. Otsego County’s Response to Question 5: Please see below for the past three years annual tonnage for single steam recycling. 2020 Calendar Year 1,321 tons 2021 Calendar Year 1,510 tons 2022 Calendar Year 1,636 tons 2023 Estimated 1,800 tons
