Otsego County will lower all flags under its control under the following circumstances: 1. When the President of the United States orders flags to be flown at half- staff. 2. When the Governor of Michigan orders flags to be flown at half-staff on a statewide basis. 3. On the following days each year: Peace Officers Memorial Day, May 15 Memorial Day, the last Monday in May, until noon Patriot Day, September 11 Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, December 7 4. Upon the notification of death in action of any active military serviceperson, that was born in Otsego County or spent a significant portion of their life in Otsego County, until the day after the serviceperson’s funeral. 5. When ordered and declared by the City of Gaylord Mayor, or by the Otsego County Board of Commissioners or its Chairperson. The United States of America flag will be lowered to half-staff.
