What’s going to happen to Pontresina Park (Dog Park)? Pontresina Park (Dog Park) will be relocated to a nearby location Pontresina Park (also known as the Dog Park) is a valued asset in our community. The Jail/Sheriff Office building plan includes moving the Dog Park to the county-owned old 911 property on South Otsego Ave, just north of the library. All donated structures, shrubbery, etc. will be moved to the new location. The new dog park will be roughly the same size as it is currently and has several advantages, such as better visibility, easier to find, and better parking. The Parks and Rec Commission, Animal Control, and 4 Paw Love are all supportive of the proposed relocation. “I am a strong advocate for animals in our community and have worked extensively for many years to make Otsego County a place that welcomes and takes good care of our pets. I am supportive of relocating the Dog Park, which will not only provide a great place for our dogs to enjoy, but it will also enable us to prioritize public safety with the proposed new Jail.” ~Jamie Hart, 4 Paw Love
