Big Welcome! To our newest member of the Gaylord Regional Airport Otsego County “Can Do” Operational Maintenance team! Brandon Carey who worked for municipal government before he moved back to Michigan. Brandon is a vital addition to our mission ready crew Добро пожаловать! Dobro pozhalovat' Or just say hi to Bill Holmes and his L-39 fighter jet. Bill served in the US Air Force flying F-4 Phantoms before embarking on his civilian career. Bill now flies a cold war era adversary jet, equipped with full Soviet camo paint and iconic red star. Welcome GLRs new resident pilot. Wilson!!! One of our yearly-based airborne firefighting crews loading up with water was able to recover a lost castaway! If you build it! We are only a few short weeks away from the completion of our transient aircraft hangar. Built for visiting overnight aircraft, this much needed facility will be a big help to our airports operations especially when the snow starts falling up here at the 45th parallel of lower northern Michigan. We Are Back! The communities well supported and much attended Veterans Coffee at the Gaylord Regional Airport is back in full swing again! Attending this month to spend time with our veterans, a now regular fixture at the event is our State Representative Ken Borton.(pic L) Visiting our airport whenever up from the Capital in Lansing. Rep Borton sits on the House Transportation Committee. Congratulations! To our very own Otsego County Administrator, Rachel Frisch for being selected the 56th Annual Alpenfest recipient of the Edelweiss Award. For her tremendous efforts in our community to make the place we call home, an even better place to live! .
