NEW YEARS Message! I started doing this letter in December of 2013. It was my way of letting people in our community know what a truly great airport they have and a little about the people that work here. Over the years the receivers of this newsletter have increased and your kind feedback has kept me doing it. 2020 is a year that will be remembered by all, some have had great loss as I myself lost my oldest brother. I still however think optimistically about the year ahead of us. Check in on each other, even by phone. 2020 did teach me about the things I can get by without but mostly about the people we can’t. After almost 14 years of contracted building and grounds services the county has reformed the department into a New county run and operated department to perform those maintenance duties. The contractor has done a great job over the years and we thank them but this becomes a more economical option. Starting in 2021, we combined the Otsego County, Gaylord Regional Airport Maintenance Team with the County Building and Grounds Maintenance Team forming the all-county employed, Otsego County Operational Maintenance Team. Long time crew becoming county employees is our regular airport team of Carter Moore, Brian Abel and David Diemert. New to the team in 2021 is Scott Burrington and Denny Koscielniak. Please welcome all of them when you get the chance. We have a big County with lots to do and together they are the team that will get it done!
