Change of Command: For almost two decades, Rachel Frisch has led, guided and directed financial operations in Otsego County and for the past five years of that has served in the county’s top position as County Administrator. The position that serves as the CEO and CFO of Otsego County under a nine-member elected Board of Commissioners, that includes the tasks of overall manager of departments, directors & staff. As a Licensed and Certified Public Accountant, she worked tirelessly to achieve the counties prized AA+ bond rating. Many of her numerous accomplishments can be seen all over Otsego County being enjoyed by the community such as the Library Expansion, Iron Bell Trail, Gaylord Gateway Trailhead, Animal Shelter Facility, County Building and University Center Entrance Projects, New Airport Hangar and upgrades to the County Bus, County Parks and County Community Center and many more. We are sad to see Rachel leaving us but share in her excitement for her new adventure. I’m not sure what an appropriate sendoff would be for someone who’s council and friendship will be missed so greatly other than to say Job well done!.....and of course Go Green! Fire Boss: For 13 years, the airborne firefighters of the U.S. Forest Service have returned to GLR to base here during the fire season. Our County Airport and Transportation Chairman, Commissioner Paul Liss welcomed the fire crew leaders and reaffirmed our support. Future Pilots: Local residents enjoying spring with a visit to our “Aviation Discovery” static aircraft. Day out with dad at GLR At The Ready: Guardian Flight has arrived at GLR. Equipped with the latest technology and with flight nurses and paramedics as part of the crew. Their mission is to get the most severely injured and critically ill to life saving hospitals and specialty care facilities. We are pleased to welcome them to Gaylord At the Controls: Amanda Apitz an attendee at the Gaylord Chamber of Commerce, (LOC) Leadership Otsego County course spent much of her day learning about our airport and meeting with many of the businesses that work here. Our airborne firefighters got her at the controls of a Fire boss aircraft. Pictured in row above.
