THE ANSWER IS PROVIDED BELOW, IN RED TYPE: One requirement states that the responding firm needs to be licensed to do business in the state of Michigan. Please clarify if the firm needs to be licensed to win or licensed to execute the project. Do we need to be licensed in Michigan to submit a bid? Or, if we are awarded the work, can we register after award as a requirement to sign a contract? Yes, you may submit a bid if you are not yet licensed to do business in the state of Michigan but would register after being awarded, as a requirement of signing the contract for services. Otsego County will consider that to be in compliance with the bid requirements.
