Policy Title: Public Safety Vehicles Policy ID: IT-12 Origination Date: February 19, 2015 Update Date: July 13, 2016 Legal Approval: Department Director Approval: Division Manager Approval: IT12-1 Policy It is the policy of Ogden City IT to perform technical support or other work on Public Safety vehicles inside the Public Works or Public Safety compound areas, or if outside such areas a Public Safety employee must be present in the vehicle. IT12-2 Policy Purpose To control the process for working on Public Safety vehicles. IT12-3 Evidence of Compliance That all Public Safety vehicle are worked on in a safe environnement. IT12-4 Policy Procedures 1. IT staff shall not work on Public Safety vehicles outside the Public Works or Public Safety compound area without an accompanying Public Safety employee. 2. IT staff shall not drive Public Safety vehicles outside the Public Works or Public Safety compound. Driving inside the above compounds is permissable without an accompanying Public Safety employee for purposes of providing technical support. 3. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by the City Police Chief or City Fire Chief, and the CAO. IT12-5 Enforcement: Any employee found to have violated this policy may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
