Recognizing the 2016-17 Weber State University Football Team for unifying residents and strengthening community pride with an exceptional season. b. Weber State Athlete Ellie Child. Recognizing Ellie Child for embodying the spirit of Ogden through her hard work, perseverance, and tenacity as a student athlete at Weber State University. c. Fasi Filiaga. Recognizing Fasi Filiaga for dedicating his life to service that has vastly improved our community and helped shape Ogden into what it is today. d. Assistant Chief Wayne Tarwater. Recognizing Assistant Chief Wayne Tarwater for his exemplary service to the Ogden community with the Ogden Police Department. e. MLK Jr. Drum Major Award. Recognizing the Ogden City Council and Council Executive Director William B. Cook for receiving the MLK Jr. Drum Major award. f. William B. Cook. Recognizing Ogden City Council Executive Director William B. Cook for his exemplary service to Ogden City during the past 15 years. (Joint resolution adopted, vote: 7-0) 5. Request to be on the Agenda: a. Citizens Advisory Committee: i. Presentation of the 2013-2016 Sunset Report. ii. Proposed Ordinance 2017-4 extending the sunset date to November 30, 2020. (Ordinance adopted, vote: 6-0) iii. Consideration of the appointment of Enrique Romo and reappointments of Tim Price, Jeremy Peterson, Maresha Bosgieter, Tyler Hollon and Bruce Ashcroft. Approval of Minutes: (Minutes approved, vote: 6-0) a. Minutes of the Joint Work Session of December 20, 2016 – Council member Nadolski 7. New Business: a. Interim Council Executive Director. Resolution 2017-2 appointing an interim City Council Executive Director. (Resolution adopted, vote: 6-0) 8. Public Comments. This is an opportunity to address the Council regarding concerns or ideas on any topic. To be considerate of everyone at this meeting, public comments will be limited to three minutes per person. Participants are to state their name and address for the record. Comments which cannot be made within these limits should be submitted in writing to the City Council Office ([EMAIL REDACTED]). The Council encourages civil discourse for everyone who participates in our meetings.
