For instance, through a statewide referendum, Ogden residents led the charge to reverse a 1953 Utah Legislature decision to return Weber College to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ogden City Council members and Mayor Mike Caldwell have also recently recognized the special relationship with the university through various resolutions; and WHEREAS Ogden is a great place for students, faculty and staff to live, work and play. The foothills are home to the beautiful Bonneville Shoreline Trail and other wonderful outdoor experiences; and WHEREAS Ogden City has played a major part in revitalizing our town-and-gown partnership through the signing of a College Town charter with the university.
