June 1, 2017 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: The Ogden City Council will consider a request to amend the Southeast Ogden Community Plan to allow the R-5/CO (Residential Multi-family/Conditional Overlay) zoning option on properties near the intersection of 3850 S. Harrison Boulevard, by amending Subsection 3.E. of the Southeast Ogden Community Plan and the community plan map. The City Council will also be consider a request to rezone properties at 3801 Harrison Boulevard, 1176 East 3850 South, 1164 East 3850 South, and 3778 Brinker Avenue from R-1-5 (Residential Single-family) and P/I (Professional/Institutional) to R-5/CO (see attached map). The Planning Commission reviewed these requests and is recommending approval. The changes are being requested for the purpose of developing a student housing facility at approximately 3801 Harrison Blvd. The proposed development would consist of no more than 41 units, would have a maximum height of 44 feet, would have up to 187 parking stalls with landscaping and buffering adjacent to the residences, and would have its entrance and exit on 3850 South. The petitioner is also requesting a zoning ordinance amendment to create a definition and standards for Student Housing. Public input regarding the proposed amendment and rezone has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 13, 2017 and will take place during the City Council meeting to be held at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, on the third floor of the Municipal Building, located at 2549 Washington Blvd. You are invited to attend this meeting to express your views regarding the proposals.
