Measured by each. B. Payment includes all labor, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to relocate the air/vac on the PRV station to a location not in conflict with the proposed improvements. Payment covers the cost of preparing the area, excavating, relocating any utility conflicts, installing 8 inch untreated base course, form work, sub-grade preparation, 6 inch concrete pad, finish work, restraint devices, off-loading, venting, venting covers, backfill, electrical work, water shutdowns, and other miscellaneous devices, materials or equipment to relocate the air/vac. Item includes backfilling the hole and any associated landscape restoration and sprinkler system repair due to damages made during removal. Item includes wrapping and greasing the pipe and all fittings to prevent corrosion. Item includes all appurtenances required to relocate or replace, as needed, any items to comply with project plans and specifications. C. Refer to Ogden City standard drawing number W-14. 3.50 RELOCATE VALVE 10”, Item No. 149 A. Measured by each valve removed and replaced with a new valve. B. Payment covers the removal and installation of a new valve at the corner of Washington Boulevard and North Street. The new valve is to be installed in the roadway. Item includes excavation, foundation preparation, restraint devices, thrust blocking, valve boxes, valve, concrete collar, backfill, bedding material, and pipe zone material, and other miscellaneous devices, materials, or equipment required for a complete installation. Item includes wrapping and greasing the pipe and all fittings to prevent corrosion. The valve is to be installed per Ogden City Standards and Specifications. 3.55 2” WATER SERVICE STUB, Item No. 154 A. Measured by each. B. Payment includes all labor, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to install a new 2” water service. This item includes connection to the main line, fittings, and other necessary appurtenances to install water service. The water service stub shall be capped to allow the owner in the future to connect to the line. The stub shall end inside of a meter box to allow the future installation of the meter per Ogden City Standards and Specifications. The meter box furnishing and installation is considered incidental to this item. Item includes are pipe bedding material, and pipe zone material. Item also includes wrapping and greasing the pipe and all fittings to prevent corrosion. This item includes connection to the main line, fittings, couplings, joint lubricants, connection of the lateral to the existing main connection and other necessary appurtenances to install the sewer service per Ogden City Standard Drawing SS-2. The service stub shall extend to a cleanout box. The furnishing and installation of the cleanout drain and cleanout box is considered incidental to this item. Includes excavation and bedding material, and pipe zone material. Item also includes wrapping and greasing the pipe and all fittings to prevent corrosion. Also included in this item is any restoration to damaged utilities or the main pipe as a result of the Contractor’s operation is considered incidental to this item. Item includes all work necessary to comply with project plans and specifications. 3.76 16” C905 DR-18 WATER LINE, Item No. 203 A. Measured by linear feet with no reduction in length because of valves and fittings. B. Payment includes all labor, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to install the new 16” water line, bedding material, and all pipe zone material. Install the pipe per Ogden City Standards and Specifications. Payment includes excavation, bedding material, and pipe zone material, fittings, couplings, joint lubricants, nuts, joint restraining devices, thrust blocking, bolts, washers, connections to existing service lines, grout, jackhammer work, trench soring or trench boxes as applicable, underground plastic line markers, cleaning of invert covers, removal and disposal of waste materials, restoration of all utilities damaged as a result of operations, site dewatering, pipe line cleaning, bac T and pressure testing, water main repair or replacement if damaged by Contractor, and similar work to complete the installation of the water line. Item includes all work necessary to comply with project plans and specifications. 3.82 Air/Vac & Valve Assembly, Item No. 209 A. Measured by each. B. Payment includes all labor, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to install the new air vac system. This item includes all cuts, bends, fittings, joint restraints, thrust blocks, vents, bedding material, and pipe zone material, pipes, 3-inch pipe, and all other necessary appurtenances to install a fully functional system. Item includes wrapping and greasing the pipe and all fittings to prevent corrosion. Item includes all work necessary to comply with project plans and specifications. 3.83 WATER SERVICE REINSTATEMENT, Item No. 210 A. Measured by actual field count, covers the system from the water main connection to the service meter including a new meter. B. Payment includes incidental work such as, but not limited to, potholing; excavation, bedding material, and pipe zone material, connection to the new water main as well as all other fittings necessary to connect to the new pipe; new meter setter materials and devices, acquisition and installation of new Raven box, ring and cover, removal and disposal of existing meter assembly, relocation as needed of customer connection to ---PAGE BREAK--- North Street Improvements; Washington Blvd. to Monroe Blvd. Modified February 13, 2017 Addendum #1 Page - 10 00 90 10 new meter assembly, connection of the new water lateral to the servicing meter and existing or new water main, taps where necessary, removal or abandonment of the existing water lateral tubing, disinfection and commissioning of the lateral, new 1” HPDE-CTS lateral line installed from the main to the new meter location and other miscellaneous devices, materials or equipment required for a complete installation. Item includes wrapping and greasing the pipe and all fittings to prevent corrosion. All work complete and in place in accordance with the project plans, specifications and Ogden City standard details C. The existing meter is to be reused. The meters Ogden City uses are Neptune meters. Adapters and connections must be included as part of this item. D. Lateral relocations of more than 2’ must be retapped. The tapping is required to be performed by the contractor. E. Existing laterals which will be moved to the new line must be tapped by the contractor. All parts, labor, materials, connections and any other item necessary to complete the tap and connection to the main must be included as part of this bid item. Any tapping will be performed by the contractor under the direction of the Ogden City Water Department. 3.84 FIRE HYDRANT ASSEMBLY & LATERAL, Item No. 211 A. Measured by each complete assembly. B. Payment covers the cost of excavation, soil preparation, potholing, the new fire hydrant with surface coatings and fittings, 6-inch supply main piping, connection of the new fire hydrant to new water main with ductile iron, PVC, or epoxy lined and coated flanged steel pipe with exterior of pipe tape wrapped, 6” gate valves with 2 piece cast iron screw type valve boxes, traffic lids, miscellaneous tees, sleeves, bends, gaskets, bolts, bedding material, and pipe zone material, nuts, approved joint restraining devices, greasing and wrapping all exposed fittings, bolts, and nuts, pipeline dewatering, concrete thrust restraints, concrete box repair, disinfection and commissioning pipeline, adjustment of valve box lids to final grade with concrete and painting, asphalt patching, surface concrete repair, and other miscellaneous devices, materials, or equipment required for a complete installation. Item includes wrapping and greasing the pipe and all fittings to prevent corrosion. Fire hydrants to be installed per Ogden City Standards and Specifications. Refer to Ogden City standards drawing numbers W-1 and W-2. All work complete and in place in accordance with the project plans and specifications. 3.85 FIRE HYDRANT REINSTATEMENT, Item No. 212 A. Measured by each complete assembly. B. All work complete and in place in accordance with the project plans and specifications. 3.86 GRANULAR BORROW FOR TRENCH ZONE BACKFILL (PLAN QUANTITY), Item No. 174 & 213 A. Measured by tons. This is a plan quantity item. B. Payment includes all labor, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to furnish, install, compact granular borrow as specified by Ogden City Standards and Specifications. Weigh tickets shall be provided to the Engineer daily. Measurement shall be for material compacted in place between the top of the pipe zone material and the bottom of the base course material. Item includes placing, compacting and testing granular borrow to comply with project plans and specifications. C. Document 01 55 26 (Traffic Control) – Changes have been made to the traffic control. The road may be closed during construction to local traffic only. When work is not take place (night, weekends or holidays) the road must be opened. The fire station must be able to enter and exit their site at all times. The changes are as follows: 3.3 SPECIAL TRAFFIC CONTROL PROVISIONS B. Traffic Control Plan: 4. North Street may be closed except for local traffic only during actual construction activities. When no work is being completed the road needs to be opened. This includes nights, weekends or holidays. 5. Access to and from the fire station must be maintained at all times. PART 3 CLARIFICATIONS 1. The contact for the fire station is Chief Matt Schwenk (801) 629-8076. 2. The Fire Hydrant Reinstatement item only re-uses the existing fire hydrant. The new lateral for the hydrant needs to be tested prior to connecting this new lateral into the new waterline. 3. Once work has commenced on the project the Engineer doesn’t expect any breaks in the work to occur. 4. The staging area on the northeast corner of Washington Blvd. has been coordinated with the owner and the contractor may elect to use this area. 5. The Lowe’s driveway closure has not been coordinated and any closures of the Lowe’s driveways will be the responsibility of the contractor to coordinate with Lowe’s. 6. The survey shows the storm drain trunk line on the south side of North Street is a 30” line. 7. The 16” waterline is to be C905 DR-18. The 8” and 10” is C900 DR-18. 8. Ogden City has a meter to connect to the fire hydrants that the contractors may use. Contact Vincent Ramos at Ogden City for further information. 9. The contractor is responsible to tap the water laterals into the new waterline and needs to include these costs in the bid item. Ogden City will not be performing this service. 10. Ogden City will provide CAD files to the awarded contractor.
