Ogden City City Council January 3, 2017 City Council Chambers Municipal Building – Third Floor 2549 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah 84401 3:30 p.m. Joint Work Session City Council also acting as the Redevelopment Agency City Council Work Room The purpose of the work session includes presentations and discussions regarding: • Agenda review for the City Council meeting; • Planning update; • FY2016 Prior Year Encumbrances and Project Carryover Budget Adjustments; • Community Investment Framework; and • Council and Board business. Any items not fully addressed prior to the City Council meeting, which begins at 6:00 p.m., may be addressed immediately following that meeting. 6:00 p.m. City Council Meeting City Council Chambers 1. Roll Call. 2. Pledge of Allegiance. 3. Moment of Silence. 4. Public Hearings: a. Mid-Year Fee Amendments – Security Alarms. Proposed Ordinance 2016-64 amending the requirements and fees for security alarm permits and false alarm calls that request a police response. (Adopt/not adopt ordinance – roll call vote) b. Mid-Year Fee Amendments – Fee Schedule. Proposed Ordinance 2016-65 amending the general fee schedule to include security alarm fees and modify the returned check fee. (Adopt/not adopt ordinance – roll call vote) 5. Reports from the Administration: a. FY2016 Prior Year Encumbrances and Project Carryover Budget Adjustments. (Accept/not accept for review – voice vote) 6. New Business: a. Appointment of Police Chief. Consideration of advice and consent of a new Ogden City Police Chief. (Approve/not approve appointment – roll call vote) 7. Closed Executive Session. Consideration of adjourning into a Closed Executive Session pursuant to one or more of the provisions of Section 52-4-205(1) of the Open and Public Meetings Law: a. Discussion of the character, professional competence, or physical or mental health of an individual b. Strategy session to discuss collective bargaining c. Strategy session to discuss pending or reasonably imminent litigation d. Strategy session to discuss the purchase, exchange, or lease of real property e. This is an opportunity to address the Council regarding concerns or ideas on any topic. To be considerate of everyone at this meeting, public comments will be limited to three minutes per person. Participants are to state their name and address for the record. Comments which cannot be made within these limits should be submitted in writing to the City Council Office ([EMAIL REDACTED]). The Council encourages civil discourse for everyone who participates in our meetings.
