Page 1 of 1 Ogden City Council Work Session: September 5, 2017 INTRODUCTION OF THE MEXICAN CONSUL FOR UTAH Purpose ofWork Session: To Welcome the Mexican Consul Jose Borjón Executive Summary Consul Jose Borjón, the Consul of Mexico in Utah, with meet with the City Council. Background Consul Borjón is a Mexican diplomat currently serving as the Consul of Mexico in Utah. He was appointed to the position in June 2017. Consul Borjón was previously in charge of the Hispanic Affairs Office at the Embassy of Mexico. He has also worked as Consul for Community Affairs at the Consulate in Houston and been in charge of scientific and cultural affairs at the Embassy of Mexico in Korea. Consul Borjón is experienced in international negotiations, cooperation, and economic affairs. He holds a Master of Arts in Diplomatic Studies from the Instituto Matias Romero, a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Proposal Consul Borjon will meet with the City Council for introductions and a brief discussion regarding how the Consulate can continue supporting the Latino community, and strengthen the partnerships and relationships within the Ogden community.
