Policy Title: Naming of City owned Devices Policy ID: IT-8 Origination Date: December 15, 2014 Update Date: December 15, 2014 IT7-1 Policy It is the policy of Ogden City IT to create and maintain the unified naming of all city owned devices. IT7-2 Policy Purpose To create and maintain an unified naming of all city owned devices. IT7-3 Evidence of Compliance All City’s device follow a unified naming convention. IT7-4 Policy Procedures The naming of a device will follow the following standards; Division - Job Function -Type of Device (Device Number) XX-XXXX-XXX(xx). The Customer Service Desk will maintenance the abbreviation list for divisions, job function and type of device, and will assign device names. Example AP-APMG-LAP1 (Airport-Manager-Laptop) AP-APMG-IPAD (Airport-Manager-Ipad) AP-APMG-PC1 (Airpoart-Manager-Computer) IT7-5 Enforcement: Any employee found to have violated this policy may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
