Did you know it takes 450 years for one plastic beverage bottle to decompose? We may not always realize the impact we have on our environment, but recycling is one easy way to help Mother Nature. Most of the items we use every day can be recycled, so remember to recycle before tossing something in the trash! © GBS Benefits 2017 Wellness Services LET’S TALK TR What’s Recyclable: • All paper products (recycle in all paper products bin) - Newspaper, magazines, envelopes - Cardboard (cereal, cracker boxes, etc.) - Paper grocery bags • Plastic, metal, glass products (recycle in commingled bin)- - Plastic containers marked #1 through #7 (look on bottom) - Milk cartons, yogurt containers, microwave food trays - Plastic beverage bottles - Glass bottles & jars (empty & rinsed) - Aluminum/tin cans, foil, trays (rinsed) What’s Not: • Plastic wrap • Plastic grocery bags • Pizza Boxes (because of the grease) • Bubble wrap • Dirty/used paper towels, napkins, paper plates • All wax laminated cartons/containers (milk and juice) • Styrofoam (cups, peanuts) • Wax laminated frozen/microwave food boxes (trays are ok) • Wax cereal/cracker box liners • Paper towels, napkins, tissue paper • Fast food wrappers • Food waste Note: If an item is covered in food it is NOT recyclable. Food contaminates the recycling process, so please be sure to rinse out cups, cans, jars, etc. before recycling.
