A VERY SPECIAL DONOR Olivia Lamons is a quiet 8-year old who took it upon herself to collect donations for heartworm treatments for the dogs at the Oconee County Animal Shelter. In a very short period of time, the founder of Project Shelter Helper and future entrepreneur collected $800.80. In Olivia’s own words, “I wanted to help the animals at my local shelter so I decided to collect donations to help pay for heart worm medicine and other things they need to prepare them for adoption. Every dollar helps.” Please see an article about this special girl on onlineathens.com: http://onlineathens.com/local-news/2012-06-03/bogart-8-year-old-raises-money-shelter- animals. She was also posted on the Oconee County Sheriff’s facebook page. The Oconee County Animal Control Department Staff are so pleased with the excellent contribution collected from Olivia’s family, friends, and neighbors.
