MURRAY CITY FIRE CADET INTEREST FORM The Murray Fire Department’s Fire Cadet Program is a career development opportunity, aimed at the fire service. The Fire Cadets are comprised of adolescents between 16 and 21 years of age. The Fire Cadet program allows students to gain a better understanding of the fire service and helps guide students interested in possibly pursuing the fire service as a career. Cadets will complete a training program instructing them in such areas as fire safety, operations, fire tactics and emergency medical service. To be considered for the Murray City Fire Department Cadet Program you must: 1) Agree to commit a minimum of ten to twelve hours to the fire program each month. This will involve eight hours of ride-along time and two training meetings each month. 2) Maintain a C+ average in school 3) Provide current school transcripts 4) Be 16 by July of this year 5) Have no felony record 6) Have a driver’s license by July and maintain a good driving record 7) Be in good physical condition As Parent/Guardian, I assume the responsibility for the return of all Murray Fire Department Personal Protective Equipment issued to my son or daughter within one week of their departure from the program.
