Sustainable Transportation Incentive Program Purpose Murray City is dedicated to encouraging employees to use alternative modes of transportation in order to reduce harmful emissions and conserve energy. The primary goal is to encourage sustainable commuting choices, such as the use of electric vehicles, walking, biking, transit, and carpool. Eligibility All benefits-eligible employees are eligible and encouraged to participate to receive a quarterly cash incentive for using a sustainable means of transportation to and from work. Incentive A cash incentive will be paid quarterly to employees who use a sustainable form of transportation for three consecutive months, an average of 80% of all scheduled shifts, as follows: All Electric Vehicle/Public Transit - $150 quarterly Walk/Bike/Carpool/Hybrid Vehicle - $75 quarterly Participation Participating employees must fill out the transportation log for a period of three consecutive months, beginning with the first week of the month. For the purpose of calculating the number of days per week, one shift shall be considered one day even if the shift begins and ends on two different days. If an employee goes on vacation that lasts one or more weeks, those week(s) will not be used in calculating the average number of days per week. This time will not count for or against the employee in calculating the cash award, but must be indicated on the log. The time needs to be in full week increments only. Partial weeks will still be counted toward the average. The completed log should be returned to Human Resources for approval and processing. The City reserves the right to modify or terminate this program at any time for any reason including subject to availability of funds.
