MURRAY CITY CORPORATION SEASONAL/TEMPORARY JOB DESCRIPTION P-1 FIRE CADET. Under general supervision, performs specific and routine firefighting functions which may include tasks such as fire hydrant maintenance and painting, working with full time crews doing business inspections, working close at hand with fire marshals, assists in conducting station tours, station maintenance and public education. Fire cadets may also work in a limited capacity on a fire ground in a limited capacity under the incident commander. Fire cadets are also required to attend training sessions on a regular basis. Considerable contact with the public. Moderate mental application required. Operates computers, typewriters, copy machines, shredding machine as well as driving non apparatus fire vehicles on a regular basis. Working knowledge of several data entry and word processing programs. Moderate physical effort. Some exposure to health and accident hazards. FLSA Non-Exempt.
