2.62.020 POSITIONS NOT IN CAREER SERVICE: A. The following regular full time positions of employment in the City shall not be career service or public safety service: 1. Elected members of the City Council and City Council staff; 2. The Mayor and the Mayor’s staff, and the following appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council: a. Chief of Police, b. City Attorney, c. City Recorder, d. City Treasurer, e. Administrative and Development Services Director, f. Finance Director, g. City Engineer, h. Fire Chief, i. Human Resource Director, j. General Manager, Power Department, k. Public Works Director, and l. Parks and Recreation Director; 3. Part time employees working less than twenty (20) hours a week; 4. Employees during a probationary period; 5. Volunteer personnel who receive no regular compensation from the City; and 6. Seasonal and temporary employees. B. Career or public safety service regular full time positions of employment deemed exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and its regulations shall be as specified in City policy.
