5900 SOUTH IMPROVEMENTS S t a t e S t r e e t t o 7 0 0 W e s t September 2014 Project Information 5900 SOUTH 15 MAIN ST 300 W 700 W STATE ST COMMERCE DR I 0 500 1,000 Feet Murray City is currently designing improvements to 5900 South, between State Street and 700 West. The improvements will increase safety and improve the ride quality of the road. Planned improvements include: • Full removal and reconstruction of the pavement from State Street to I-15 • Resurface pavement from I-15 to 700 West • Realign 300 West intersection to improve safety at the TRAX crossing • Upgrade pedestrian ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) • Replace curb, gutter and sidewalk in areas that are deficient • Replace existing water line and storm drain Schedule Design work will continue through fall 2014, and a contractor will be selected in early 2015. The project team anticipates the majority of construction will take place in 2015; however, utility relocations at 300 West may require work into early 2016. To accommodate the construction of the pedestrian ramps and utility relocations at 300 West, small portions of property will be purchased from private land owners. Project team members will contact land owners during fall 2014 to discuss these purchases. Additional schedule information will be mailed prior to the beginning of construction.
