December 18, 2000 CHANGE ORDER NO.! Project: Wastewater Treatment Facilities Phase III 1. Reroute U ofl aquaculture drain line: Work was shown on Plans, however the location of existing "previously unknown" subsurface utilities noted during U of I irrigation force main relocation (completed just prior to start of this project) necessitated slight changes in routing of the relocated aquaculture drain line. No increase or decrease in project Contract time. Cost decrease . ($1,701.65) 2. U ofl storm drain reroute: An existing 24" U of I storm drain line was uncovered during initial earthwork operations for construction of the aeration basin and influent pump station. The line was not shown on drawings obtained from the U ofl during design and was not noticed prior to construction . This line had to be rerouted around the south end of the project to Paradise Creek. No increase or decrease in project Contract time. Cost increase . $40,855.38 3. Install geotextile fabric: Geotextile was installed under the aeration basin and influent pump stations. This is a cost effective alternative to overexcavation and imported bedding (both if which were unit price bid items in the bid schedule). Unit price for installed geotextile is $1.15/SY. The anticipated cost for geotextile is approximately $7,000. The reduction of in overexcation (assume only 100 cubic yards required) and imported bedding (assume only 100 cubic yG.rds required) is estimated at $35,280. This Viill result in savings of approximately $28,280. There shall be no change in the unit bid price for overexcavation and imported bedding even though the total quantity of each will decrease by more than 25%. No increase or decrease in project Contract time. Cost decrease . ($28,280) 4. Raise existing vault lids: City staff requested that two existing electrical vault lids be raised to better match surrounding ground elevation. Work was not identified on Plans. No increase or decrease in project Contract time. Cost increase . $835.80 2000-77 ---PAGE BREAK--- 5. Move MH-1 (located between DBB and Screw Pnmp Station): Contractor request to allow for 24" and 36" RCP lines to come into MH-1, and avoid conflict with mitering pipes. No increase or decrease in project Contract time. Cost decrease . ($1,975.86) 6. Eliminate 4" vent on 3 lines into DBF: Vent lines required on plans for all lines into DBF, however the vent lines on pipes coming into DBF will provide little appreciable increase in flow rate. No increase or decrease in project contract time. Cost decrease ($800.01) e, P.E. ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT $11,778,232.00 Added Amount, This Change 8,933 66 REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT $11,787,165.66 ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF CHANGE ORDER LIMITS BY CONTRACTOR The increase or decrease in Contract price and/or Contract time stated in each and every Change Order shall unequivocally comprise the total price and/or price adjustment due or owed the Contractor for the work or changes ordered by the Change Order.
