MOSCOW CommUNITY WALK PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, The City of Moscow believes that human beings everywhere are inherently good and decent, and WHEREAS, We believe that peace and harmony among people of all faiths and persuasions is possible and that such relationships will help further understanding in our shared world, and WHEREAS, As a community, we choose to embrace unity, peace and harmony and to promote a process of meaningful connections with each other in our community, and WHEREAS, We choose to walk together on common ground in a symbolic pilgrimage of our common humanity in the spirit of peace and harmony, and WHEREAS, We believe that each step of the CommUNITY walk enables us to experience and to feel peace and harmony, so that we are enabled to act and behave in that spirit. WHEREAS, We invite people from all walks of life—religious, nonreligious, all cultures, ethnicities and colors—to join us in this virtuous mission: the Moscow CommUNITY Walk Day, NOW, THEREFORE, I, Nancy Chaney, Mayor of the City of Moscow, do hereby proclaim Saturday, April 28th, 2007 as Moscow CommUNITY Walk Day in the City of Moscow to promote meaningful connections among all in the community and beyond, and I urge all citizens to participate in this inspirational and momentous event.
