May 18, 1998 CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 Project: WASHINGTON-JEFFERSON I HIGHWAY 8 WATERMAIN REPLACEMENTS Project No.: 118 - 97 1. Replace an additional 255 lineal feet of water main along Spotswood Street - from in front of Southside Mini-Mart to Jefferson. The existing Spotswood watermain was found to be 4-inch lead joint pipe when it was uncovered, not 6-inch as had been anticipated and shown on the old record drawings. Replacement was necessary because the old main was both undersized and of antiquated design. Add $14,343.29 2. Remove a 5-foot bury hydrant (installed by this project) on the south side of Hwy. 8 adjacent to Palouse Fence's storage yard and replace it with a 4-foot bury hydrant The 5-foot bury hydrant as had been called for in the original design protruded too far out of the ground as installed. This was because the pipe to the hydrant had to be laid· shallower than planned to clear an existing storm sewer main. Add $414 .00 Existing contract amount $47,796.00 Amount of increase due to this change order 14,757.29 REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT . . . . . . . . . . . $6 2,553.29 98-19
