Trees located in tree lawns and rights of way along residential streets are the responsibility of the adjacent property owner and are generally not available for adoption. The City Forester has sole authority to approve specific trees for adoption. Adopter’s Responsibilities Undertake the activities for which you are authorized in a responsible manner, taking into consideration your safety and that of others as well as the continued health of the trees. Report back to the City Forester when work is complete, note any particular issues or concerns that Staff should consider. Report any issues you observe on any City tree (broken limbs, suspected disease or failure to thrive, and tree-related hazards to pedestrians, vehicles utility lines) to the City Forester.
