Kiwanis Day WHEREAS, Kiwanis International is a community service organization with more than 300,000 members worldwide; WHEREAS, Kiwanis describes itself as an organization of volunteers, changing the world, one child and one community at a time; and WHEREAS, the Moscow Kiwanis Club is a duly constituted club of Kiwanis International, chartered on May 12, 1926; and WHEREAS, the Moscow Kiwanis Club is a major supporter of Hordeman Pond/Kiwanis Park, and hosts the annual Kids’ Free Fishing Clinic; and WHEREAS, the Moscow Kiwanis Club is an important part of public service and citizen involvement in the Moscow community, providing time, energy, and resources for various community activities, especially those benefiting children and youth; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Nancy Chaney, Mayor of the City of Moscow, do hereby proclaim Thursday May 13, 2010 as Kiwanis Day in the City of Moscow, in gratitude and recognition of the 84 years of community service by members of the Moscow Kiwanis Club.
