March 7, 1995 CHANGE ORDER NO. TWO Project: Wastewater Treatment Plant Sludge Dewatering Facilities 1. Water main connection to U of I distribution system: a. Furnish and install 800 feet of 8-inch dia water main and one fire hydrant, per the plan entitle Moscow WWTP Water Service Improvements and dated February 2, 1995. b. The addition of this water main achieves increasing the plant's fire flow from it's present 200 GPM to 1 ,000 GPM( c. . $21 ,907.91 2. Water main deletion: a. Delete the installation of 400 feet of 8-inch dia. water main shown on the project plans. b. The construction of the above described 800 feet of water main voids the need to connect to the plant's existing 200 GPM (maximum) water source. c. Deduct.. . 8,600.00> 3. Building ventilation improvement: a. Furnish and install continuous soffit vents, both new buildings. b. Necessary to ensure adequate air circulation in the attic spaces; not a requirement of the original plans and specifications. C. Add $ 380.00 4. Heater capacity increase: a. Increase the output capacity of the gas heater (outside located) for the dewatering building from 125,000 BTU to 175,000 BTU. b. A second (inside located) heater for this building was eliminated by addenda during bidding because it could not be made explosion proof, as required. The capacity of the one remaining unit must now be expanded accordingly. C. Add · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · . $ 2,262.06 5. Replace existing valve: a. Replace an existing 4-inch gate valve on the chlorine contact chamber scum line with a new 4-inch plug valve. b. The existing valve is in such poor physical condition that it could not be operated. A new plug valve will allow the scum line to again 95-19 ---PAGE BREAK--- be utilized as designed. This item was not included in the original scope of work. C. Add . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 799.43 6. Belt filter press meter size increase: a. Furnish and install a 4-inch meter in lieu of the 3-inch originally specified. b. The larger meter size was needed to accommodate the plumbing arrangement of the belt filter press. Md . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . $°.75 7. Electrical service to new sample pump: a. Furnish and install an electrical service to the 0.5 H.P. sulfur dioxide sampling pump. b. This electrical service had been overlooked and not included in the original design. C. Add . . . . . . . . . . . . $ 939.19 8. Electrical service to added booster pump: a. Furnish and install an electrical service to the belt filter press washdown booster pump. b. The manufacturer of the belt filter press added an unspecified washdown pump (for no cost) that requires an electrical connection. The pump was not known to be needed until after contract award; therefore, this electrical service was not included in the original plans and specifications. C. Add . . . · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · . $ 496.81 9. Electrical service to existing sampling pump: a. Furnish and install a new electrical service to an existing plant effluent sample pump located at the discharge of the chlorine contact chamber. b. This pump's existing, long service was located within the site of the new main drain lift station, which location was unknown until excavation began. A new service is deemed necessary because the existing does not meet code. Also, the new service will be more efficiently located at the chemical building a short distance away. C.
