Am I eligible for single stream recycling? If you live in the City of Moscow you qualify. Exceptions: This program is NOT offered to apartments classified within a “mixed use” building. Most missed collections can be avoided by having your recyclables set out by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day. If you put your recyclables out before 7:00 a.m., and they were not collected, please call Moscow Recycling 882-0590 as soon as possible. If you have more materials than will fit in the roll- cart you can bring them directly to the Moscow Recycling public sorting area anytime. Please note you must separate your materials at that location. Recyclables Accepted Aluminum Cans Please rinse, labels OK. Clean aluminum foil and foil trays. Tin/Steel Cans Please rinse. Paper labels OK. Pots and pans. Cardboard Please flatten, must be less than 3’ x If you have large loads or pieces, please bring to Moscow Recycling. Mixed Paper Includes newspaper, inserts and advertising, junk mail, envelopes and office paper. Cereal and dry food boxes (remove liner). Your recycling must be placed loose in the single stream roll cart for pick- up. Please do not bag your recycling.  Place your recycling roll-cart for collection where it has been delivered to your home. This will ensure your recycling is collected and accessible by the collection vehicle. Roll-carts will be placed at the curb, by the end of driveways, or the edge of an alleyway for ease of access.  Workers will not be required to retrieve roll-carts for collection if they are on the sidewalk, behind parked cars, or any other area that is not easily accessible.  During heavy snow events, please make sure your recycling roll-cart is not placed behind berms. During these times, place your roll-cart at the end of your driveway for collection where you have cleared the snow.  To ensure your roll-cart is serviced, please place with the wheels against the curb (unless otherwise noted). If you have alley collection, make sure the roll-cart is at the edge of the alley (not in the alley).  Place the roll-cart with the arrows on the lid pointing toward the street/alley.  Your recycle roll-cart should not be within 3 feet of cars, other roll-carts, mailboxes, trees or other objects that will prevent the automated arm from being able to access your container.  Extra materials along side your roll-cart will not be picked-up. If you have extra material you may bring it to Moscow Recycling’s Public Sorting area and sort the material there. Or you can place it in the roll-cart for the next pick-up. Placing your Roll-Cart Single Stream Recycling Glass is NOT accepted in the single- stream process. You may bring your glass directly to Moscow Recycling’s 24/7 Public Sorting Area. Please NO light bulbs, window glass, lead glass, fluorescent bulbs, ceramics or dishes. None of the following are accepted in single stream recycling: NO Glass of any type. NO Styrofoam of any kind, plastic caps or lids. No plastic plates or utensils. No plastic clothes hangers. No plastic motor oil or anti-freeze containers, prescription containers, candy wrappers or chip bags, Ziploc bags. NO aerosol spray cans, paint cans, sharp or greasy metal, metal clothes hangers. NO food-soiled boxes, disposable diapers, ribbons or foil wrapping paper. NO wax or plastic-coated cardboard, paper towels, plates or napkins. NO dirty or soiled paper of facial tissue and NO hardback books. NO CD’s or DVD’s, Bluerays or cases. NO household batteries. NO clothing or electronics. This program is designed to increase your recycling efforts by providing a convenient way to recycle a wider variety of items into one handy roll-cart.
