RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -12 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO, ADOPTING THE 2016 BIKE ROUTE AND FACILITIES PLAN ESTABLISHING DES1GNATED BIKE ROUTES AND PROPOSED FACILITY INFRASTRUCTURE; PROVIDING THIS RESOLUTION TO BE EFFECTIVE UPON ITS PAS SAGE AND APPROVAL. WHEREAS, in July 2014, the City adopted the Moscow Multimodal Transportation Plan "Moscow on the Move"; and WHEREAS, Chapter 5 of the Transportation Plan presents strategies and projects to address challenges and barriers to walking and bicycling in Moscow; and WHEREAS, the Transportation Plan recommends the development of a variety of facilities useable by people of all ages and abilities, including the expansion of the bicycle network; and WHEREAS, the City of Moscow is a Bronze Category Bicycle Friendly Community as assessed by The League of American Bicyclists, and desires to improve to the Silver Category; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to promote the use of bicycles as a healthy, cost effective, and sustainable approach for mobility of the community for recreational and commuting purposes; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Moscow as follows: The City Council hereby adopts the 2016 Bike Routes and Facilities Plan as shown on the attached Exhibit for the establishment of Bike Routes throughout the community and the implementation of the Bike Route Facilities upon the designated routes as proposed or unless infeasible due to incompatible infrastructure, then said routes will be adjusted accordingly. That this Resolution shall become effective as of the date of passage.
