She earned her MS in Botany from University of Washington in 1966 and taught at Seattle University. She is an Honorary Fellow of the Washington Native Plant Society and her artwork often reveals organic and ecologic underpinnings. She studied art and printmaking at The Evergreen State College and has been creating art for 30 years. Over 400 pieces reside in corporate and private collections. Betty Jo is an elected or signature member of Women Painters of Washington, Northwest Watercolor Society and National Collage Society. She is a respected juror and teacher, and nominated to Who’s Who in American Art.
