RESOLUTION 98-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF IDAHO, CLASSIFYING AUDIO TAPES OF CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS AND CITY BOARD AND COMMISSION HEARINGS AS TEMPORARY RECORDS AND PROVIDING FOR THEIR DISPOSAL PURSUANT TO IDAHO CODE SECTION 50-907. WHEREAS, City Clerk makes and retains an audio taped transcription of each and every City Council meeting, Board hearing and Commission hearing which occurs in the City; and WHEREAS, there is currently no provision for the reuse or the disposal of such tapes; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Council that it is in the best interest of the City and its citizens to conserve resources by recycling and reusing the audio tape or by disposing of the audio tape when appropriate; and WHEREAS, City Council recognizes that, on occasion, there may be a specific reason to preserve audio tapes for an appropriate period of time. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Moscow as follows: 1. Audio tapes used to make audio transcriptions of City Council meetings, Board hearings and Commission hearings are hereby classified as "temporary records" pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50-907; 2. Such audio tapes shall be erased and reused or disposed of not earlier than six months following the date of the meeting or portion of the meeting or hearing last transcribed on such tape; 3. Whenever a request is made to the City Clerk in writing that a particular tape be preserved, such audio tape shall be preserved until such time the City Clerk can determine preservation of such tape is no longer necessary.
