ENGINEERING DESIGN EXPO PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, The University of Idaho College of Engineering has educated more than 13,000 men and women since 1907; and WHEREAS, The Engineering Design Exposition provides a forum to share the local, state and global impacts of projects and research with our community; and WHEREAS, The high quality of engineering graduates from the University of Idaho is confirmed by the consistently high pass rates on the Fundamentals of Engineering examination; and WHEREAS, Engineering faculty and students at the University of Idaho are conducting leading edge research which extends from beneath the sea with the Office of Naval Research to outer space with NASA; and WHEREAS, Through the decades, University of Idaho engineering graduates have become groundbreaking entrepreneurs, collaborative corporate leaders and truly global citizens; and WHEREAS, The impact of the University of Idaho can be seen in the continued economic development of Moscow, Idaho and throughout the Nation; and WHEREAS, The City and community of Moscow recognize the importance of engineering design and the impact it has on our City, State and Nation; WHEREAS, Moscow, proudly congratulates the University of Idaho College of Engineering on their centennial year; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Nancy Chaney, Mayor of the City of Moscow, do hereby proclaim April 27th, 2007 to be Engineering Design Expo Day in the City of Moscow, and I urge all citizens to recognize the importance of the University of Idaho College of Engineering and the impact its projects have on our City, State and Nation.
