RESOLUTION NO. 2002- 19 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO. AUTHORIZING THE AMENDMENT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAJOR STREET PLAN MAP (FIGURE 5) AND THE COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN MAPS (FIGURES 8 AND 9) TO RESEDIGNATE THAT PORTION OF SIXTH STREET LOCATED BETWEEN DEAKIN A VENUE ANTI PERIMETER DRIVE FROM COLLECTOR (ALSO KNOWN AS MINOR ARTERIAL) TO LOCAL; PROVIDING THAT THIS RESOLUTION BE IN EFFECT UPON ITS PASSAGE, APPROVAL, AND PUBLICATION ACCORDING TO LAW. \VHEREAS. the designation of the subject portion of Street as a collector (also known as mmor arterial) street is in conflict with a recogmzed pedestrian prionty area and the Crty's ablirty to Implement pedestrian crossings and other improvements intended to enhance pedestrian safety; and WHEREAS, Planning and Zoning Commission, after conduct of a public hearing on September 25, 2002. recommended approval of the amendment specified in the title of this resolution; and WHEREAS. Idaho Code requires that the governing board not eonsrder Comprehensive Plan Map amendments more frequently than once every srx months; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have not considered a Comprehensive Plan Map amendment within six months of their December 16, 2002 meeting; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council, after conduct of a public hearing on December 16, 2002, voted to approve the amendment specified in the title of this chapter. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Moscow, Idaho. as follows: That the portion of Sixth Street located between Deakin Avenue and Perimeter Drive be redesignated from a collector street (also known as minor arterial) to a local street and that the Major Street Plan map (Figure 5) and Land Use Plan Maps (Frgures 8 and 9) of the Moscow Comprehensive Plan be so amended.
