July 21. 1998 CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 Project: Wastewater Treatment Facilities Headworks 1. Divert existing 30-inch pipe around the new Headworks building location. The existing main influent line was too close to the new building's northwesterly wall too allow construction to continue. A temporary 24-inch pipe was laid to skirt the area. The existing pipe's route was not accurately documented on any of the old plans and was not thought to exist at that location. The project's contract scope did not include this work. City furnished materials. The price was negotiated after different alternatives were reviewed. Add $13,901.00 2. Rock excavation. Extra work was required to excavate solid rock found at two locations with the project site. The rock was not known to exist and the work to remove it was not included in the original scope of work. The price was negotiated. Add $4,348.00 3. Grinder frame elimination. A frame to be furnished with the second grinder (under this contract) does not accommodate the auger to be purchased in 1999 by the City and installed on this grinder. The contractor will furnish the second grinder without frame. The second grinder that is part of the contract will be delivered to the WWTP site and stored. Money has been budgetd in FY 1999 to purchase a second auger unit which will then be coupled to the stored grinder. Both units will be mounted on a combination frame that is also budgeted for purchase in FY 1999. We bid the second auger as an alternative in the original project but the cost could have placed the project over budget so we did not recommend that alternative. Deduct. $2,015.00 4. Miscellaneous plumbing deductions. Certain vents, traps, and cleanouts were deleted because it was decided that odor containment was not a consideration in this building. Deduct. $1 ,988.00 Original Contract Amount. $746,651.00 AMOUNT ADDED, THIS CHANGE ORDER 14 246.00 REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT $760,897.00 f - 98-31
