RESOLUTION 99-11 WHEREAS, the Whitman County Planning Commission, at the request of the Board of Whitman County Commissioners, is seeking to amend the Whitman County Comprehensive Plan regarding the Pullman/Moscow Corridor; and WHEREAS, the Whitman County Planning Commission is soliciting public input regarding an amendment of the Whitman County Comprehensive Plan repealing the 1988 Corridor Comprehensive Plan Amendment and replacing it with an updated Comprehensive Plan Amendment, and to add the Pullman/Moscow Corridor District; and WHEREAS, the City of Moscow is in the process of completing amendments to its Comprehensive Plan and said amendments should be final within the next three months; and WHEREAS, a regional planning effort regarding development of the Pullman/Moscow Corridor including transportation and other issues, is necessary before significant policy changes are considered for the corridor; and WHEREAS, the City of Moscow is willing to assist in the development of a comprehensive plan for the corridor. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Moscow that this Resolution be offered to the Whitman County Planning Commission and the Whitman County Commissioners at the public hearing to take place on Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at 8:00 p.m., as encouragement to the Whitman County Planning Commission and the Whitman County Commissioners that a regional planning effort be pursued for the Pullman/Moscow Corridor which takes into account development, transportation, environmental, recreational, and economic opportunities presented by this unique area which acts as a link between our communities, our counties, and our States.
