RESOLUTION NO. 2006 - 23 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, IDAHO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE NATIONAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (NIMS); PROVIDING THIS RESOLUTION TO BE EFFECTIVE UPON ITS PASSAGE AND APPROVAL. WHEREAS, City of Moscow has used Incident Command System as their incident management system for emergencies; and WHEREAS, the Department of Homeland Security has developed a comprehensive nationwide framework for incident management that will enable responders at all levels to work together more effectively to manage incidents no matter what the case, size or complexity, called National Incident Management System (NIMS); and WHEREAS, the Department of Homeland Security has asked all government and emergency entities to adopt the National Incident Management System (NIMS), so that all entities are tied to the System; and WHEREAS, the City has required all employees to go through NIMS classes to pursue compliance with this request; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Moscow, Idaho do hereby adopt the National Incident Management System (NIMS) as their incident management system.
