ONE city of Moscow, Idaho Mountainview Bridge Widening - 1993 Project No. 103-93 '-AU6' 1 9 ISIJ An 18-inch diameter sanitary sewer line passing beneath the creek at the site is encased in concrete. Its exact location was unknown prior to excavating for the new arch pipe culverts. A thin (0.2 ft.) layer of the encasement was removed to allow the new culvert inverts to rest directly on the encasement at an elevation that would maintain minimum upstream grade. A layer of grout between the existing encasement and the new arch pipes was placed to deter flow under the culverts. The work described above was not included in the original contract documents.
