RESOLUTION NO. 93-12 _ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF IDAHO, PROCLAIMING A GENERAL CITY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 2, 1993, DESIGNATING THE POLLING PLACE, DESIGNATING THE REGISTRARS, AND ORDERING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE OF SUCH ELECTION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, IDAHO, THAT: section 1. The general city election will be held in and for the city of Moscow, on the 2nd day of November, 1993 at which time there will be elected a Mayor and three Councilmembers to serve for a term of four years or until the election and qualification of their successors. Section 2. The following is designated as the polling place for such election: Latah County Fairground Exhibit Building - 1021 Harold Street Section 3. That Elaine Russell, city Clerk, staff in the City Clerk's Office, and the Latah County Clerk's Office in the Latah County Courthouse are hereby designated as Registrars. Section 4. The Clerk, for and on behalf of the Mayor and Council shall give notice of the time and place of holding such general city election by posting such notice in three public places or publishing such notice in at least two issues of the Daily News, a newspaper printed and published in the City of Moscow, Idaho, the first publication of such notice to be made not less than 45 days previous to the date of such city election and the last publication not more than 15 days nor less than five days previous to the election; the Notice so published shall state the places of registration and the name of the Registrars, and the requirements for registration of electors at such city and such other information as may be necessary to give facts and be given in accordance with the requirements of Section 50-436 of the Idaho Code. ---PAGE BREAK--- PASSED BY the Council this 7th day of September, 1993. ATTEST: ---PAGE BREAK--- NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ELECTivrl NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the General Election to be held in and for the City of Moscow, Idaho, will be held on Tuesday, the 2nd day of November, 1993, at which time there will be elected a mayor, three councilmembers, the question of the issuance of general obligation bonds indebtedness of not more than $208,294 to pay for the cost of relocation and construction of an animal shelter facility for the City of Moscow, and the question of the Moscow City library into the Latah County Free Library District on which day the Polls will be open from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M., at the following designated polling place: Latah county Fairground Exhibit Building - 1021 Harold Street In order to vote at this election each voter must meet the following requirements: l. Must be at least 18 years of age; 2. Must be a citizen of the United States; 3. Must be a bona fide resident of the city for thirty (30) days next preceding the election. 4. Must have registered for the election or must have voted in a general election within the past four year. (NOTE: However, if a voter has questions reference registration they may contact either the City Clerk's Office at 882-5553 or the Latah County Auditor's Office at 882-8580). (NOTE: However, if a voter has moved from the precinct where he last registered or voted in the last General Election, he MUST re-register. ) Electors may register during regular business hours on each day except Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. Registration continues until and including Friday, October 22, 1993 until 8:00 P. M. with the City Clerk and the Latah County Auditor. The names of the Registrars and places of registration are as follows: Elaine Russell, City Clerk & staff in the Business Office, Moscow City Hall, 122 East Fourth; The Latah County Clerk's Office, Latah County Courthouse, 6th and van Buren. Qualified electors who, because of illness or expected absence on the date of election, will be unable to vote on election day, may obtain absentee ballots from the City Clerk.
