RESOLUTION NO. 2006 -03 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO, AGREEING TO SUPPORT FEDERAL AND HIGHWAY PROJECTS; PROVIDING THAT THIS RESOLUTION TO BE EFFECTIVE UPON ITS PASSAGE AND APPROVAL. WHEREAS, the City of Moscow, Idaho (hereinafter referred to as "CITY") is submitting an application for the FY2009 Transportation Enhancement Program Solicitation to the Idaho Transportation Department, for installation of In Roadway Lights to Improve Crosswalk Visibility within the CITY limits; and WHEREAS, CITY acknowledges the Transportation Enhancement Program is not a grant application, that it is a request for reimbursement through the Federal Aid System and that all federal rules for contracting, auditing, and payment will apply; and WHEREAS, Moscow City Council supports the project and project application; and WHEREAS, CITY acknowledges the financial and future maintenance commitments which will result from adding new facilities to the public infrastructure; and WHEREAS, CITY has built-in resources, currently the Street Department, capable of maintaining this type of facility; and WHEREAS, development and maintenance of the project is a responsibility the CITY is willing to accept; and WHEREAS, the proposed project will be maintained by CITY; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Moscow, Idaho as follows: 1. The Moscow City Council supports the In Roadway Lights to Improve Crosswalk Visibility 2009 application and project. 2. The Moscow City Council acknowledges financial responsibility and future maintenance commitments of this project.
