RESOLUTION NO. 2013 - 13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO, AGREEING TO SUPPORT AND SPONSOR AN IDAHO GEM COMMUNITY GRANT FROM THE IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE TO ASSIST IN FUNDING INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS TO INCLUDE RECONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK SYSTEM AND INSTALLATION OF FIBER OPTIC CABLE IN SUPPORT OF THE RETENTION AND EXPANSION OF AN EXISTING MOSCOW COMPANY; PROVIDING THIS RESOLUTION TO BE EFFECTIVE UPON ITS PASSAGE AND APPROVAL. WHEREAS, the City Council is interested in the economic health of the community and its citizens; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to support and encourage appropriate efforts within the community that promote economic development of the community and the economic well-being of its citizenry; and WHEREAS, the Idaho Department of Commerce is offering a program specifically designed to help Idaho communities implement economic development strategies/projects and, WHEREAS, this program is entitled the Idaho Gem Grant Program, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Moscow, Idaho, hereby support and endorse an Idaho Gem Community Grant application to fund infrastructure improvements to include reconstruction of a sidewalk system and installation of fiber optic cable in support of the retention and expansion of an existing Moscow company. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Moscow, Idaho, designate Alisa Stone, City of Moscow Grants Manager, as the administrative agent for this grant.
