RESOLUTION 99-29 WHEREAS, the City of Moscow wishes to support the healthy development of children and youth; and WHEREAS, the healthy development of children and youth depends upon the family and community to provide certain resources to each individual child including: ongoing relationships with caring adults safe places and structured activities during non-school hours a healthy start marketable skills through effective education; and opportunities to give back through community service; and WHEREAS, a coalition of groups and individuals known as Moscaw's Promise: Community Alliance for Youth has formed and wishes to affiliate with America's Promise to Youth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW AS FOLLOWS: That the Moscow City Council desires that the City of Moscow be designated as a "CITY OF PROMISE" and wishes to support Moscow's Promise: Community Alliance for Youth in becoming affiliated with America's Promise to Youth. p( Passed by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this day of December, 1999.
