November 6, 2000 CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 Project: STREET WATERMAIN 1. Replace 40 feet of existing N.W. Reservoir drain pipe at & Almon: The existing 12" pipe that is the drain and overflow line for the N.W. Reservoir was exposed at the intersection of and Almon during the installation of the new Street watermain. It was found to be in such poor physical condition that City staff determined it's replacement necessary. This 40 feet is the only remaining portion of the oldest pipe to serve as the reservoir's drain. Added costs . . . . . . . . $6,856.15 2. Modification of plumbing design at & Asbury: The connection of the new 12" main to an existing 4" main at this intersection needed to be modified from the original design plans to ensure that the old 4" main being connected to would be out of the excavation limits of the soon-to-occur Street LI.D. The extra work consists of additional pipe & fittings and deep trenching. Added $3,857.56 3. Replace two existing sanitary sawer 'flush tanks' with new manholes: Two existing sanitary manholes located on the south edge of Street needed to be reconstructed prior to the L.!.D because they were the old style flush-tank type design. This extra work was determined to be necessary following the award of the contract. Added costs . . $5,164.72 4. Repair of storm drain mains at the intersection of & Almon: One 24" and one 8" storm drain main needed repair because of the excavation of the watermain - thru no fault of the Contractor.
