RESOLUTION NO. 92- 07 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO, PROCLAIMING SUPPORT FOR THE BID TO HOST THE 1995 AAU/USA OLYMPICS, TOGETHER WITH THE CITY OF PULLMAN, WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY AND THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO. WHEREAS Washington State University and the University of Idaho are considering submitting a bid to host the 1995 AAU/USA Junior Olympic Games; and WHEREAS these two universities have the facilities to support the various athletic events as well as housing accommodations for the athletes and staff; and WHEREAS the Cities of Moscow, Idaho and Pullman, Washington have been invited to participate in support of this bid; and WHEREAS serving as hosts to these games has in the past proven to be rewarding for the communities involved; and WHEREAS such an event would showcase the two universities and the cities of Moscow and Pullman to approximately 6000 participants in the games; and WHEREAS the games have not been held in the western United States since 1980; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSCOW THAT: That the City of Moscow, together with the City of Pullman, Washington State University and the University of Idaho should support the bid to host the 1995 AAU/USA Olympic Games.
